Kiwican Week 1!

Image result for kiwicanToday my class did kiwican with Miss Tuia and Mrs Mac. Mrs Mac covered for Mr Matt.

We focused on being respectful to others around us, don't be shy and give it a go. Our  topic we focused on was integrity and honesty.

Then we got in a circle one by one told them what our names were. When that was done we played a game called bang. (How to play).  A person calls out your name and then you duck down, then the people on the side of you gets to say bang. The first person to say bang wins and the person on the side sits down. I didn't win, but that's was okay.

We played another game called change places if. So a person says a question, like if your favourite colour is blue then you change places. If your the last one standing up you have to do five star jumps.  I had a lot of fun and can't wait for next week Tuesday.

Shades And Highlights With Paint

At Tech in Miss Ferguson's class we did shades and highlights with paint. I was actually excited.

The colours we used first was blueyellow and redprimary colours. First we learnt how to paint smoothly and not use big blobs of paint. Then we mixed the colours together, like mixing yellow and red together to make orange, blue and yellow make green, and blue and red make purplesecondary colours.

When we finished painting and mixing the paints together, we went on to how to do shades and highlights  with black and white paint. Now, I was nervous on this bit, because I didn't really know how to do it but I tried.

Softball

On Wednesday we went to the interschool softball competition at Dunkirk. I was nervous but excited at the same time. When we arrived, there were already schools practising. We were all getting scared now. So we went into the shade and started practising our softball skills.

Then the siren went off for the first round of the game! The first team we played was Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Puau Te Moananui A Kiwa school. The leader from this school did a toss with   our leader, Jessica, to see who would field or bat first. Ruapotaka won the toss and decided to field and we started the game. Our team didn't win but it was a really cool day.

Me! - Technology Lesson on Me

Today we did Technology at Tamiki College! I was excited because
it was my first time doing tech. Our teacher was Miss Ferguson. We learnt how to                                  make an avatar and did something we liked about ourselves.

Being A Prefect

Kia orana, my name is Madisyn and I am a year 7 Prefect at Ruapotaka School. Being a Prefect is stressful because I have a lot of responsibilities and leadership. The other prefects and I have to be great role models to all students. I am grateful for this opportunity. I have a lot of goals as a Prefect.  I am excited but at the same time nervous.

Finding the meaning

In my reading group we had to find a word we didn't understand and try to figure out the meaning. By reading the sentience, this was my word I didn't understand.
